RCEC Fiber Optic Deployment in New London

RCEC would like to thank everyone that was able to attend our meeting last week. We appreciated the honest feedback and participation. For those that were unable to attend the meeting, the following information was presented:

The community of New London is being broken into six different phases.

Homes/businesses in NL01D are active to sign up for drops. At this time, there is a $200 aid to construction that must be paid prior to us installing the drop at your location. Paying the construction assistance payment does not require you to take Ralls Technologies’ services. It is only making the services available for you or someone that may own your home in the future to use them at a later time. Even if you do not intend to purchase FTTH services at this time, it is still recommended that you have the drop built while crews are in your area. Please note, additional Ralls Technologies fees may apply for inside installation work. This offer for the drop to be built at just $200 is available from now until July 3, 2017. After the preconstruction offer has expired, drop costs will likely be in excess of $500 for the drop to be built at a later time. Construction of all drops will begin shortly after the cutoff date of July 3rd, 2017.

For those customers in the other five phases we will be building on a success based plan. We will start construction of a service territory after we have 25% of homes or businesses in that area to sign up for a drop. If the service territory does not meet the 25% requirement by Friday Sept 1st, that area will NOT be built at this time and all construction assistance payments that have been made for that area will be refunded. You can see the enclosed map to see which service territory your home or business is in. Encouraging your neighbors to sign up is recommended as it may help expedite construction of your area.

Customers may come into the local office here at Ralls County Electric to pre-register and pay your $200 Aid to Construction cost for the drop. We will also be going door-to-door to hand out fiber registration cards along with our current pricing rate card.
